My name is Denis Delisle, I'm the Regional Director for the North side of a small little lake in a very large world. Or a very large lake in a very small area called North Shuswap, in Canada - in British Columbia. It is situated between the cities of Kamloops and Salmon Arm. It is incredibly area with a variety of greens in the summer, splashes of and yellow oranges in the Indian summer and the winter is white as well as grey depending on what mother nature is wanting to do.
As if I did not have enough to do! This is the first step in blogging for me the intent is to have a dialogue that keeps people informed (and them to me) about the going ons in the North Shuswap. I want to be interesting, informative, entertaining, thoughtful and community driven.
Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2011
Good wishes and starting to talk about taxes may be conflicting but I have heard complaints from taxpayers that the assessment for their places has gone up substantially. This may not tie in with the way places have been selling on the North Shuswap which apparently has been moving at a low volume. People have also been bringing their prices down in order to sell their place, as I hear it.
Don’t forget ... if you disagree with your assessment, you must file a formal appeal by March 31, 2011. After that date you will not get another chance. If you have any questions, call your local assessment office (Kelowna Toll Free: 1-800-990-1192). Go online to www.bcassessment.ca as well to compare other property assessments in your area, try using the free e-value BCTM (after January the 15th this service will not be available) service on their website.
If your tax assessment has not arrived in the mail by January 19, call toll free 1-800-668-0086.
